Terminology

There are a few terms that we may use in a way you don't understand or expect.

They are explained here for easy reference. If you searched for items under another name that we haven't included, please tell us so that we can add them to this Help.

Column

Tables have columns; you may know these as "fields". There are also columns in grids, which may be query columns or table columns. When there is ambiguity our principle is to use a full name: "table column" or "grid column".

Constraint

aka Primary key

Data display

The data display window displays the contents of tables, or the results of queries. The same window is used for both.

Field

of table, generally referred to in this Help as "table column"

Referential integrity

aka Foreign key
